Richard Blankenship, LPC, NCC, CCSAS


Richard Blankenship currently directs the North Atlanta Center for Christian Counseling and Faithful & True – Atlanta; a program for male addicts, female addicts, spouses, and couples in recovery.  Richard is the vice-president and director of the American Association of Certified Christian Sexual Addiction Specialists (AACCSAS).  He developed the first graduate course to be taught on sexual addiction with Dr. Mark Laaser and guest lectures in a variety of courses.  Richard is a frequent guest on radio and television shows in the Atlanta area dealing with sexual addiction, coaddiction, spiritual abuse, and domestic violence.  He is the author of the LIFE guide for young men, S.A.R.A.H. (Spouses of Addicts Rebuilding and Healing) and the LIFE Guide for Couples.  Richard holds two masters degrees; an M.Ed. from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and an M.A. from Harding University Graduate School of Religion.  Richard is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with the state of Georgia, a nationally certified counselor (NCC) with the national board of certified counselors, and a certified clinical sexual addiction specialist (CCSAS).   He is married with two children and has practiced with churches and counseling centers for almost 25 years.

 

Chuck Anderson, MACP, LPC


Chuck has a background of over 20 years in engineering and management in corporate America prior to changing his career focus to the helping profession.  Chuck has a master’s degree in counseling psychology and another in theological studies, both from Mars Hill Graduate School.  He enjoys working with individual men and women and with couples who are struggling with relational issues, particularly those that show up as non-substance addictions like work, sex, and religion, and with the struggles associated with mid-life “re-alignments”.  He is also interested in working with survivors of childhood sexual abuse and those who love them, and with men who are really serious about getting violence out of their lives, especially violence towards members of their own families.

 

Sonya Kennedy, LPC


Sonya earned her B.S. in Psychology from Georgia State University and her M.A. in Professional Counseling from Richmont University (formerly Psychological Studies Institute.)


Sonya enjoys working with children, adolescents, individuals, singles, divorcees,  premarital, marital, and families in regards to various life issues. A particular focus is depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, and ADHD where she helps clients learning to deal with their illness through various coping skills as well as making changes and improvements in their daily lives. Using a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach, Sonya uses interventions as well as other psychotherapy approaches, building therapy specifically for each client’s situation.  Sonya is also trained as a stepfamily specialist with Atlanta Stepfamilies. She has training and experience facilitating Group Therapy sessions which enable clients to relate and learn from others.  Intensive outpatient sessions are available and can be customized to the clients needs.  Intensive outpatient usually consists of 2 or more 50 minute sessions throughout the week or consecutive sessions on the same day.

Dr. Mark Richardson, D.Min, CPSAS


 

Mark is a pastoral counselor and life coach.  He works with spiritual issues that come out in therapy, and also does recovery coaching.  Mark provides a variety of coaching services for the counseling center.  He does premarital counseling & coaching from a pastoral perspective and conducts many wedding ceremonies throughout the year.  Mark is a leader of Faithful and True men's groups.  He holds a doctorate in Ministry, as well as a Master of Arts degree in both Christian Counseling Psychology and in Ministry.  He has had more than twenty-five years of ministerial experience and is working with us as a group facilitator.  Mark is married and has two sons.

Eryn Jones has a clinical background that includes family and couples work, anxiety, parent training, grief work, and relationship issues. She also has experience working with women who have experienced unplanned pregnancy and are facing many new decisions and anxieties. She has extensive experience counseling adolescents in a youth ministry setting.  Eryn is also trained in EMDR (I & II) and is particularly interested in helping those who have experienced either recent or past childhood trauma. Eryn Jones recieved her graduate degree in Counseling Psychology from Lipscomb University.

Dr. L’Anni Hill returned to Atlanta in 2010 after serving 7 years in the Netherlands, where she had a psychotherapy practice for English-speaking clients living in the Hague, from refugees and diplomats to housewives, students and professionals.  She also served 2 years as the Director of Pastoral Care and Counseling at the Crossroads International Church in Amsterdam.   She has worked successfully with individuals suffering from anxiety and depression, sexual, physical and emotional abuse, phobias, body-image and eating issues, infertility, adoption and identity issues, attachment and rejection issues, separation and divorce, as well as spiritual conflicts.  She is also a life coach, attentive to the dreams and strengths of her clients.

 

Dr. Hill custom-tailors her holistic therapeutic approach to the needs of each client, drawing upon her recent training in some of the most effective short-term interventions based on the latest developments in brain functioning related to reprocessing and healing emotional wounds.  In collaboration with her clients, she sometimes uses the arts, pets, mindfulness and bodywork to open people up to new perspectives  and insights on their life situations.

 

L’Anni is a mother and grandmother, and brings her years of experience, wisdom and compassion into her professional practice.  She is familiar with many cultures, having been raised in Asia where her parents were medical missionaries, and spending her adult life working in Egypt, Puerto Rico, the US and Europe.  An ordained Presbyterian minister, she has served as a chaplain in hospitals as well as for the FBI.  She is currently completing her PhD, studying the effects of including spiritual resources in traditional therapeutic methods.
